jars can lay sideways?

edit: i thought the foil came off after sterilizing...

Actually that would be a tub, tub, tub in tub or T.T.T in T., lol.

If you're getting another tub tomorrow, just wait. Leave em be till then.

Those jars on their sides are W.B.S. Can't see why you can't lie them on their sides. Didn't cause me any problems. Don't know if I would do it to BRF jars. With the dry verm layer. Might all fall to one side.

Foil, since it doesn't impede gas exchange , can be left on as a dust barrier. Personal choice.

With the heat bomb, you would want it to be as hot as it takes to get the ambient temp of the incubator to between 80-83 degrees. They really only work for smaller containers, like styrofoam coolers and such size. I geuss you could use more then one for a bigger tub.
I would think if you got the bomb to 84 or so and set your jars around it and maybe wrapped it in a towel or something that would work.

ok, so i checked the water and it was cold but my thermometer was reading 78, so i just emptied out the water, wiped the jars put them back in and put them in my closet like they were before... hopefully i didnt hurt anything.

edit: i was sad because i kept checking the thread and didnt see anymore replies and finally noticed page 3 heh.

tyler i know what you are talking about, and it is easy to find if you just search the site. like hippiechick says, you look like you're going for a tit setup, just add another tub. otherwise, you could buy some perlite, set that up in the bottom and use it that way, though it would still be slightly jerryrigged. if you are looking to use just one tub, search magash, and then go to his poormans pod under your results. but you gotta invest in your setup a bit if you plan on success. i mean look at it this way, spend a few extra dollars now, and youll reap it over tenfold in the future, cuz you can use your setup over and over and over.....:)

thanks. well i really dont want to spend alot of money but that isnt the big deal i just dont want anything that is going to be big and bulky.

i just took the jars out of the water and cleaned the tub out and put them back in, they were growing fine before i just wanted to speed them up

During the day, i like to wrap my jars in a sheet and put them on my window seal for heat, is this a good idea? they arent getting any light so i dont think it would be a problem.

If you are already seeing growth, then why is the heat such a big issue? Just relax and be patient. They will colonize!

I know its not that im really impatient(i am) but, i just what to do everything i can to make sure they will be successful.

I have a thermometer with them in the sheet to make they dont get to hot but its a nice day so im not really worried about them overheating.

Last night i kept them in the tub i got and when i opened the tub this morning it seemed cold and it was around 70*, why would my closet be warm but the tub keep the jars cool?

That's kinda what I'm thinking,lol.

Or just go get the other tub and set up the T.I.T. You've already got the most important pieces.

Stop making a mountain out of a mogul. Save that for more serious problems, lol.

Something is not adding up. You say money isn't a problem, then go out and get another tub and put this problem to rest. That simple.
