Lazy man's is next to best

100 % success - one cake that got contam. out of almost one hundred. I use virmiculite and BR-flour. One 1/2 pint jars or (less(for quicker yeilds comprable to that of 1/2 pinters). I sterilize the jars with a pot with a towel and water in it and high-mid-boil it for 1 1/2 hours(dual foil tops on ofcoarse). I inocculate in a room with no breeze and do not breath on the foil top as I inject leaving no liquid ontop the first layer of foil only to cover it in an other layer of foil after the injection(two peices of foil per jar). Let sit,or to hasten the process use the fishtank heater method. If a few jars have less than 4 cm circ. of uncolonized material I scath that part with a red-hot knife. I birth them in a massive bucket 2 inches apart with next to soaking-paper towels under each cake(separating the cake from the wet ground in some way, like a jar lid). I wad up more with much soaking water and intuition and wait for the top of the container(big one with lots of oxygen) to become almost covered in wetness and condensation. The unfinished cakes are soon taken over by more myc. I airiate the container three times per day with a clean piece of newspaper or something. I take out the old wads of humidifiers and replace them with new. I read and become aware of what less humidity can do, less for primordia, more for further pinning and further developing shrooms. Each wad of moisture placed under any cake tends to the cake as the heat thus the humidity rises from under the bucket where there has always been a (pad)-heater making the grow chamber approx 76-80 degrees. I then pick masses of shrooms and soak the picked cakes for around 18-20 hours. And then I fruit them again and again in the same way, all the meanwhile realizing how much humidity soaked cakes give off by themselves. If you beleive in useing myc. water for inocculation, this method is as successful as you want it to be.

now then, play nice. Do what the rest of us cynics do, keep the demeaning thoughts about others confined to an internal monologue
Allright then, now comments: I am really impressed that you could have such contam-free success with such a simple setup (which is only made more impressive by the scale of the setup, 100 jars... I'd get pretty worn out with all that effort!), especially considering the amount of improvisation it sounds like you used. That must have been multiple times cheaper than a more advanced setup.
I'd love to know the dry weight of the yield you got, I bet it's enough to keep you busy for quite some time

Nothing but disrespect. Good lord......... Boy shrooms have taken you guys a long way. I didnt just eat them. I did this with a friend who ate 5 grams a few times plus hundreds of dollars. If your going to be snide atleast do it with some wit, and say what ever the hell it is you meant to say. One-liners shouldnt be this hard to understand. Plus, we only used about 3 by 5 feet of closet space each rep. Good for you for responding for no reason thoug really. What would have happened to this thread if I had not mentioned my one cake-worth of failure.

I am suggesting a lazy mans method. with the exception of the fishtank heater during colonization, or a heat pad. I dont see why this seems so easy to chide and make fun of. Most people ive seen who use other more intriquet methods with simple cakes fail, including those who make caseings. What is everyone's problem though most comments are somewhat passive-aggresive. Are people upset that they have been thrown through a grow-loop again and again. I just dont see any reason for this. I premised myself, Its cakes..............

well now, I have nothing but good things to say about how successful your grow was, as did the other poster. I don't see any reason to complain about that
I think you have misunderstood something, there was no negativity in any of the replies. We're all impressed.

Sarcasm goes a long way and bad lingo is part of it.Its so common here, but if you really read into the original 99% comment, you can detect some disrespect. I later realized that I cant tell the difference anymore on this forum because there are so many smart asses and so many one-liners. Forgive me. I meant to be poinient and was offering a platform that could very possibly be full of questions. After re-reading, I still dont know what to think. Thanks for the unecessary qualifiers. They did indeed confuse me

Stemmer, I can see why your ratings are suffering. You are going off on all of the people that are giving you positive feedback. Are you really reading what they posted? You seem to be stuck on that 99% comment that wasn't intended to be rude in the first place. Relax and pay a little attention to what people are telling you.

"Strange one liners dont really assert that you have a personal interest beyond being out of your element"
WTF is that supposed to mean? I'm definitely NOT out of my element when it comes to mushroom cultivation. I don't really have too much personal interest in your grow, sorry to disappoint.
You seem to be the only one with the "bad lingo" around here. I have no idea what you are expecting people to post in your thread. Perhaps you should put some guidelines in your sig explaining what you expect from those that respond to your posts. I'm kind of dumbfounded myself
