Innoc/colonization chamber

I innoced twelve jars about eight days ago and the temp in the space fluctuated between 77 and 83 since the weather was changing round here. I think there was a noticable improvement in speed in the mycelial growth for the day it got up to 83 degrees. I figured this after the temp dropped and the jars seemed to almost stop spreading.

So today I went to the pet store and spent $33 for a ten gallon tank, a 50 watt tank heater and a $2 stick on the glass thermometer. I will be very interested in seeing if this speeds up the colonization. I am shooting for 83-85 degrees in the tank.

I seem to remember someone telling me I ought to do this a while back.

it will make a big diff in colonization times. you should have just made a heat bomb and used a $8 rubbermaid tub from wally world. the tank might be good for fruiting but not so sure about colonization cause the light imo is not good during colonization unless you plan to fruit invitro. i know there are differences of opinion on this subject but that is how i feel about it.

:peace:

I hear what yer saying on that. I have covered the aquarium with a towel which is blocking out all the light.

Thanks for the post.
