Q's about growing P. Cubensis using a casing method

I have recently colonized my first set of 12 .5 pint jars using the MMGG and I am soon to be fruiting the cakes.
So far I have followed the MMFF exactly, but I am considering growing my first batch using a casing method, in order to strengthen my harvest. I just have a few questions about this method.
1.) The MMFF speaks to being careful not to physically damage the cakes, as this will promote possible contamination. However, the casing method involves completely crumbling the cake. Is this correct?
2.) What is the appropriate size pan for growing?
3.) Approximately how many 1/2 pint sized cakes will it take to appropriately fill a pan that is 8" x 12".
4.) What is the appropriate fruiting conditions for a pan prepared using casing methods? Does it still need 90+% humidity in the terrarium, or can it simply sit covered in open air, or does it need to be in some kind of terrarium w/ no extra air humidity?
Thanks a bunch for any help!

1.) yes you crumble the cakes to case them. When the cakes are fully colonized they are less contam prone. Plus when you crumble the cakes they will mend back together making it one large block of substrate.
2.) Depends on you...and how much substrate you are going to be using. You talked about a 8" x 12" container...that would work for you.
3.) 12 cakes
4.) Yes you will need a fruiting chamber. Humidity at 95% or higher til you get pins showing...then lower it to 85%. Fruiting temps around 73 to 76 degrees F. have been good to me. Lots of FAE..fresh air exchanges...but don't hurt your humidity level. And give them light...I do 12 on 12 off.

hey man,
make this:
50/50+ Casing Tek
then do this
Casing 101
i knew someone who tried cakes. they NEVER fucking worked. he did these 2 steps one time and BANG, all of a sudden, everything was butter.
dont do cakes. do this, it's MUCH easier and you'll get better results.
