Myc subjected to too much heat. Is it ok?
    #4786507 - 10/11/05 08:17 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I put my casing layer (50/50 peat/verm) into the FC earlier today, keeping it down around 71? outside the chamber. Unfortunately, the heat rose while I was away to about 90-95??outside the chamber for 2-3 hours. As soon as I got back, I lowered it back down. Should the myc be ok? I also had one casing container still incubating. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandon

I believe the temp that kills is 106?? plus if it only got 90-95 for a few hours I don't think that would affect the internal temp of the casing enough to kill it....

Your fine....just monitor your temp better, is your casing in the fruiting chamber right now?

Yeah, one of them is, the other I'm still waiting for some myc to peek through (put too much casing soil on top). I'm fanning it and misting every so often, and keeping the temperature at around 70? outside the FC.
