Cobweb Q's
    #4785922 - 10/11/05 01:09 AM (18 years, 5 months ago)

Can myc alone fight off cobweb?

I hear people using h202 to fight it.
can you use pure h2o2 for extra cobweb fighting power, if not, why not?

i heard someone say salt works. do i sprinkle it all over the substrate? regular table salt? can it kill the myc? how liberally do you apply it?

ever ate mush from a casing that you had cobweb on at one time?

anyone whos new to casing, id recommend using more casings with less substrate over less casings with more substrate, so you dont have all your eggs in one basket.

fully colonized myc may be able to...
I would spray with DILUTED h2o2 (a part h2o2 to 7-9 parts h20)

pure h202 would probabaly kill mycelium

let me just tell you my story on cobweb mold the first time i ever grew i had like 3 jars of half cob half myc so i said what the hell and cased it with poo well the poo and the myc kicked the cobwebs ass in like 4 days and yes the mix above with peroxide is good i use it all the time. and yes salt does work too but in my experience it kills the myc brutaly , but peroxide seems not to hurt the myc too much.

if your prob is cobweb on the casinglayer,
go like this :

make casinglayer just out of vermiculite (just 1/2 inch is ok !) wich you wet with water which is about 1% of H202 +- 0.3 %
---> this means if you have 30% H202 you take 2-3 ml H202 / 100 ml Water !
