How to initiate pinning and best casing?

First, how do you suggest you go about initiate pinning? We currently fan 5 times daily, RH 95% and 74 deg F, and 12 hours on/off light from some x-mas lights :) It's been about 3 days and nothing. How do you suggest you cold shock, if that is a good idea? Just cover in saran wrap and toss in the fridge for 6 hours?

Second, what is a good casing? vermiculite seems to work fine but are there any advantages to other casing materials?

the fridge idea works fine and verm is fine too 50/50 holds a little more water and is what I use....works great

You only need wait. Casings usually pin in about a week, once birthed.

I am pretty new to this, but from what i have read for casings it is optimum to have your humidity at 80%. Why the lower humidity than cakes? If onw were to put cakes and casings in the same terrarium at about 95%rh would that be bad for the casings?
