mycelium problem
    #478574 - 12/03/01 06:09 PM (22 years, 2 months ago)

Last tuesday i inoculated 4 jars. Everything was pre-sterilized from JLF catalog. Now it is Monday the next week. I can see no growth of anything. Just humid water vapor condensing on the side. I only inoculated in the center of the lid, unlike the PF technique. And I didn't inoculate it diagonaly like the PF method. I still have 4ccs of spores left in the freezer. Am I just being impacient? Does it usually take this long for mycelium to grow? Any comment is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bud

If you dont see anything in another week then start to worry...it can take from 1 week to 6 weeks depending on your temp.

Well not necesarily.. I mean if you innoculated in the center and not on the sides then you may have to wait a little while longer for it to colonize outwards. It probably started in the middle and has to work its way out.

if you innoculated in the center than it will take as long as the mycilium takes to reach the outer surface. i cut one of my jars open when it was colonizing at normal speed, and the center was not colonized yet, at had been like three weeks since the first site of myclium growth, all the other cakes turned out fine. i have a toe nail at the end of my penis

Well, I havee 4ccs of mushroom spores left. That is enough for my four jars. Should i reinoculate then now, or should i wait a little longer? If so, about how long do you think? ok i'm gonna go, Thank you

it can take from 3 days to 2 weeks to germinate, and you only innoc'd in the center....., so you wont 'see' mycelium for a few more days. so why are you trippin?

Break one open and check. No, wait... panic, its been 6 days!

exactly. also, i've read someplace that it may not be a good idea to freeze your spores... just keep 'em in a cool/dark place like everyone else.
