Help! First time growing.

I ordered a mushroom growing kit off http://www.mushbox.com, which came with the substrate, casing, and spawn. The instructions require the substrate to be sterilized in a canner/pressure cooker. Is there any other method to sterilize it?

if your substrate is brown rice and verm then you can boil it and ditch the pressure cooker, but if you use rye or any other substrate you will get fucked with contaminents. its happened to me.

Yep, git yerself a tall pot, then let it ( the jars ) sit on a RAG or wire rack a half inch or so off the bottom less if you are using a rag.

bring it to a boil@cybernetprocessing.com, then let it gently boil for maybe an hour or so. be SURE
the water does not boil out or you will ruin the moisture content of your jars..
Then@cybernetprocessing.com, let the jars cool in the pot@cybernetprocessing.com, warm jars can suck air as they cool.

And next time@cybernetprocessing.com, dude@cybernetprocessing.com, save yerself some cash@cybernetprocessing.com, and just follow pf tek or whatever... Vendors LOVE guys who buy kits.

What did you pay for your kit@cybernetprocessing.com, and what did you get?

my friend got the same kit its $120.00 canadian(like $9.75 american) it works super good especially for first timers.

about 120 canadian that included two syringes because my first fucced up, and theyre $35 canadian each so 70 for that 50 for the rest. 120 can is like 80 us i think.
