I'm quite new to this "sport" :-D, but any ways, from everything that I have read it's your best bet to get a spore print. I don't know how true this is but I also read that if your mushroom's prints are a deep brown to purple or black, and bruise blue to bluish green it's almost a guarenteed find... Hope that helps...

They resemble Lyophyllum decastes, but we can't be certain with what you've given us.
Happy mushrooming!

phat clown, theres a few species of boletes that stain blue and they are poisonous. but then again they are ruled out by their spongy undercaps.

You obviously know more than me, but according any picture I have seen of boletes these don't come close. These don't at all have a sponge undercaps.

my response was to phat cow, and toxicman has the closest guess to your mushrooms identity.

Spore print on this was pure white which is exactly what a Lyophyllum decastes's print would look like. I think it is safe to say from other research these are Lyophyllum decastes.
Thanks guys for the help and time.

if it is Lyophyllum Decastes then it is the edible fried chicken mushroom, why not keep it if it is LD?
