Well, me being a damn cool canadian , get to have my uber delicious turkey dinner tonight. The official holiday is monday, but we always have the dinner on sunday.
It's going to be quite a meal. Big family too. Mmm, pretty much everything you can think of will be there tonight. Can't wait!
What's everyone else up to for the holiday?

Thanksgiving food is the best collection of food ever.

We eat on either Sunday or Monday, this year it's monday (fuckers I want turky now!). Deep fried turky is the shizzle.

Yeah, I just looked it up. Oct. 10.
"The first Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated on April 15, 1872 in thanks for the recovery of the future King Edward VII from a serious illness."

I have to admit...I like xmas better. Everyone goes all out. I have such a huge immediate family that we over compensate for it with WAY to much food. I love it.
The reason I like it more. Well, I'm actually not the biggest fan of turkey. But ham...ham is the best meat on the planet(need that honey mustard!). At xmas, not only do you get the full meal deal...but you also get TONS of snacks before and after(all sorts of fruit platters and crackers/meat/cheese, all sorts of dessert snacks). And to top it all off...you get to watch people open up gifts and cool stuff like that.

hehe halloween rocks! Same time though as you yanks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statutory_holiday
There are 9 federal holidays
-New years -Good friday -Victoria Day -Canada day -Labour day -Thanksgiving day -Rememberance day(that's when everyone where's the poppies around ) -xmas day -boxing day
Each province has there own specific holidays too...
for me, it's B.C where... -boxing day is not an official statutory holiday -we get a B.C. day which is the first monday in august
