Transfered cakes into new terrarium, got some questions.

Well I had 3 cakes in a small terrarium and the perlite was stinky even from the beginning, and it only got worse. I think it was the tap water I used that screwed over the perlite, the cakes however looked okay. Today I decided that I wanted to birth some more cakes so I went to Walmart and got a nice 55Liter Tupperware to use as a new terrarium. Filled it up with brand new perlite and used distilled water with a small portion of h2o2. This time after it was done the perlite smelled clean, and it smelled even better when I transfered the cakes, beautiful mushroomy smell. Hopefully I will see pinning on my 3 cakes that I birthed 5 days ago exactly. Then I birthed 4 new cakes and now its up to 7! I'll get some pictures up of my new setup as soon as possible.
I got some questions pending on my mind, this is my first grow and I got alot of unfilled spaces.
Im currently using a perlite/mist setup and I have 7 birthed cakes with room for a couple more. However I have about 7 cakes about a week away from birthing. Im looking for a good Ultrasonic Humidifier that I can rig up with a 55-80Liter Tupperpware to use in a terrarium with cakes/casings. Will I still need the perlite with a humidifier?
Also ive been looking for a nice horsepoo tek to grow azurs, cubensis on, aswell as a good substrate to use along with that mix. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't even bother buying an ultra sonic for a tub especially if your growing cakes. I think plain perlite humidification for a tub is fine.... If you want cool mist would probably be better for a tub.

i do not believe you would need the perlite if you are supplying the humidity with the ultrasonic. i have seen a few awesome teks for an ultrasonic.....looks very simple once you get it all set up. i cant remember any of the links, but the ones i am thinkin of werent off of this site. if i can find them ill PM you with the links.

Well my terrarium looks and smells great now, earthy shroomy goodness. Im really happy with my setup and im just gonna do 2 air exchanges daily with 1 misting, maybe. When I get some pins the air exchange will increase aswell as misting.
However ive been noticing on some of my first cakes that the mycelium growing around vermiculite in the terrarium are kind of grey but more like clear/white. Dont know what could be causing this, it might be normal it might not. I guess I just gotta wait it. out.

Kotton is right. I wouldn't bother with an ultrasonic for your setup. You will get plenty of humidity with just perlite so I would be worried more about air exchange than adding more humidity. Personally, I like the poor mans pod setup. It provides humidity and constant air exchange. If you want to use coolmists and ultrasonics, go with a Martha setup. With a 55 liter tupperware, you don't really need an elaborate setup to get great results.

no ultrasonic needed for the cakes honestly....mainly casing if that. right now spraying and perlite should be more then fine.
