I've been bitten by a spider!
    #4765485 - 10/06/05 06:45 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

I was out picking some gourmet shrooms in some woods and got bitten by a spider half way down my arm (not sure what sort of spider)!

I live in the UK and there's apparently no deadly poisonous spiders here but my arm has swelled from my elbow to the base of my palm!

I figure it's got to be an allergic reaction.

WTF do I do?

It was just an itchy bite up until an hour ago.

Since then my whole arms become swolen, hard to the touch, bright red and the wound is weeping clear fluid  :frown:

You should call poison control or some such org. just to be on the safe side.

Meh, just an allergic reaction.

I've got some tablets for that kind of thing but you can't drink alcohol with them...

I think I'll stick with the alcohol

I have no clue about spiders in the UK..

But Last Feb. I was bitten three times by a Brown Recluse Spider.

The first bite was on my left inner thigh about 2in. below my left nutt!

Then two smaller bites on my right thigh!

The large bite was hell.

I hope to god I never have to experience that feeling again!

if it doesn't get any worse, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it does you need to go and get an epinephrine inection most likely.

The obvious solution is that you must chop that arm off immediately.

I've got some H202 from my shroom growing days but that stuff degrades over time...

Worth a shot though I suppose

Nope, won't really do anything for a spider bite. I'd wash it with soap and water, simply to keep the wound site from being infected. H2O2 won't stop the allergic response.

Nah, wasn't joking. In the states theres what's called a Poison Control Center, and you can call them 24/7 and ask about different poisons and they'll tell you what to do. Guess you guys don't have that
