weird looking shrooms

This batch of shrooms is looking very strange... the spores are from the same shrooms i've been growing for a while so I don't think it's the strain. The cakes are just starting to fruit and the shrooms are kind of brown and look like little fuzzy monsters and the caps are smaller than normal. What the heck is going on?

The strain is most likely degrading. Order some new spores or discover agar.

How long does it take for a strain to degrade? Do you think the mushrooms from this batch will be any good? Also, what is the most potent strain in your opinion.

If you do generation after generation of the same strain on the same substrate it will eventually degrade. In my opinion all the strains are just as potent, with very small differences..it depends what you grow it on. Try switching the substrate next time so the strain can adapt, instead opf using BRF use birdseed
