no real reason for asking this, just want to see what different people might say.
lets say that you know the world is going to end and many will die, but you are one of the lucky few chosen to live and start humanity over again. heres the question, if you were given a 6 month notice of this, what would you do to plan for it, what would you bring with you?

Hypothetical questions are hard to answer, but I would either not bring anything at all, and see how evolution goes...or just the necesseties like food and water or water purifier.

Its not a bad question, this forum can still ba a little slow is all.
Actually, I have most of what I would need already. I could pack my gear and be outta here this afternoon and probably be able to survive comfortably in the wilderness for the remainder of my life. Truth is that we have become soft in the last 200 years. What we would think of as "wilderness survival" now was just consider "living" two centuries ago!

interesting question, especially for this past two weeks.
We didn't know about Hurricane Katrina hitting as we left for the woods on Sat before she hit and didn't have news until the friday after. We came out of the Tetons, and oDin saw the newspaper "New Orleans in Anarchy". We were all like WTF?
We were in a different perspective, having just came out of the woods carrying everything we needed on our backs and doing quite well. We then had the discussion of what would you do if this type of thing happened in your area. We were all like have some food and a purifier with extra filters, and get the hell out and up into the forest. The rest is just gear that if you backpack you already have.
It is amazing what you DON'T need to be happy and healthy.

an awesome 30 person tent, plus 2 back up tents. 10 years worth of dried food. Huge boxes of matches and lighters, quality knives, rifles, water purifiers, fishing gear, medical supplies, books on wilderness survival, All terrain vehicle, back up parts and gas, ammunition...
if possible built a fully self sufficient cabin in a secluded, beutifull and bountifull wilderness area, with gardens, orchards, fishing and hunting access etc, solar panels, generator, etc.

i wouldn't bring any rifles or guns... i would make sure all of them were destroyed... hopefuly the new race would never have the chance to discover one.
