I recently was provided with a culture of some kind of milk-loving fungus. I was told that it was cultivated by the Chinese. To cultivate it I am to place it in fresh milk once daily. Each day before placing in fresh milk I am to drain the "juice" off and drink it. I then rince any residue off with cold water before adding the fresh milk. I was told that drinking the juice is an ancient Chinese medicine for many ailments. The fungus is very small, about the size of a pencil eraser. It is cream colored. I tasted the fungus and found it to have a lemon flavor. Does anyone have any ideas of what I have?
