do you tend to be bummed at the thought of finishing it? SOmetimes I find finishing a good book feels like amixed blessing. Good because I finished it, but sad because its over

depends on how long it takes me to read it.
I recently read a series of 12 books and I was happy to finish all off them through #11. I read most of them in 1 day. Now I'm savoring the last and I know I'll be sad to finish it...until #13 comes out next year.

Yeah it's almost like saying good-bye to a good friend, especially when it's something you been reading that consist of more than one book.
Sometimes though I'll read a book and when I get to the end of it I feel like I've been robed, because the end just sucked compared to the rest of the book.

Evonavich's series? I don't think any guy would be interested in that series, it's a total chick story.

A really long book tends to feel like a companion almost, I just love carrying it around and reading it at many intervals throughout the day.
I can see how a series of books would be very captivating, since often they involve very long intervals of time, and you get to observe change in a non invasive way (or at least a manner thats not trying to wrap the story up quickly)
What books have you grown attached to?
Amidst my schoolwork amongst other things Ive been reading Bill Bryson's - A Short History Of Nearly Everything. and although Ill be sad to end it, its given me a lot of ideas of other things I want to read.

IF i have to read a book for class, even if i enjoy it, i usually can't wait till its over.
But when i read out of class i usually enjoy it alot more. Last year i read All the Kings Men for an english class, and it was a great book, but i couldn't wait to be done with it so i wouldn't have to hear all my dumbass classmates psycho-analyze it
