Leeched Horse Poo?

I got like 30 lbs of stable poo, so Im going to put that int he tub and clean off all the hay and junk and then leech the ammonia by soaking it for 24 hours and then draining and leaving ona tarp to dry? This is what Ive gathererd so far, but Shirley Knot's poo guide says that I can skip the drying stage and just pasteurize it? Will this harbor contams or not? If its getting pasteurized will it be too wet to store after? Thanks!

I just spent awhile in my bathtub cleaning up horse poo -_- And I pulled out 99.9% of all rocks (there was a tidbit of tiny tiny gravel left) and alot of the hay/straw crap from the stable, so now I have a bunch of clean, fibery poo being soaked in a bucket. I noticed that I had a mixture of both old and new poo, some of the nuggets were still greenish =/ Does this mean I cant use it? or can I still leach it dry it, pastureize it, dry it, and store it again?

leaching/drying = making green poo(all poo) useable. Poo sometimes comes with amonia that you don't want.

don't worry about pasturizing it until you are ready to use it, i just process (shred) it after it has been aged/weathered. then bag it up once it is completely dry. then the day before i need it i just wet it up to field capacity, rebag and pasturize. if you are going to do the pasturization, it would be best done before you use it rather than pasturizing and drying. otherwise you are just creating more work for yourself.
best of luck

classic!
I saw you mention returning stuff in another thread. I do it too. Big PCs are rare where I am but in the US people could get all their stuff together and then get a huge AA, do 100's of a/c bags (cheaper than 100's of jars) and then return it. Enough substrate for the year! I have heard of year old mycobags still being good.

you can skip the drying and go straight to pasturizing after you have leeched for 24 hours. just do squeeze test by squeezing out all water from poo. shouldnt drip from hand when squeezed. then put in your bag for pasturizing. 2 hours at 170F.
