Ok im not bashing him, but he really wasnt that great of a guitarist.. his tunes were catchy at best i think
Just my humble opinion.. he was a great guy though nothing extra ordinary on the guitar however..

Just sweet and catchy. Not a real technician though. Just put alot of hooks in the Beatles tunes. I don't know what you think of the Beatles as a group, but he understood a guitar hook, IMHO. Like that GREAT guitar hook in the intro of "Ticket to ride" IMHO, a guitar hook don't get much better than that!!! He was the soul of that bunch, i think... He taught John how to play guitar. As far as Beatles go, the sum was greater than any of it's parts...

The beatles as a group are ok for me..
Lennon is pretty damn good though he had some lyrical talent

Lennon was a lyrical genious in my personal opinion. I could gush on and on about the lads. My Mother is from Liverpool.
It's all been said before...
