okay, so that mycellium urine is like yellowish, and also maybe tan hardened looking spot is dead mycellium, but did anyone ever use old spawn like this to grow? its about 2 months past colonization and there is definate waste in there, but its just too much spawn and way to white and fluffy and beautiful to let it waste, especially with this bag of tennesee stud coming tomorrow. whats your opinions on using this old spawn?

I wouldn't take a chance on losing the poo, too expensive. Do a couple more jars and use them. It could be OK, but why take the chance on using them as spawn. Case em and see what happens. Won't be as big a loss if they aren't any good.
Good Luck.

last week i spawned some 2 month old brf jars (stored in the fridge) to some poo and they took right off now let me tell ya, just like they had finished up colonizing the day before. i left the poo just a bit wetter than normal because the cakes were pretty dehydrated but 4 days and they had the surface colonized. looking forward to see how they will fruit, going to try and borrow a digicam again to show ya some pics.
so i would say as long as it is not contaminated in anyway, then go for it. don't let it go to waste unless you can afford to. best of luck

You stored in the fridge. That would basically stall vegetative growth and stop the build up of mycelium waste. They might dehydrate, but you took that into account
from his description, sounds like they might have been left in more favorable temps. With all the waste, and possibly some brown dieing mycelium, don't know if they're spawn worthy or not. Especially on poo you bought, lol.

Mycofile has been talking of how overincubated spawn can lead to higher potency. Let us know if you find them more potent than usual.

sure will, am going today to try and borrow a digicam. i was more interested to see if the myc would pick back up growth, how quickly it would, etc. i left two of the jars to grow invitro, haaaa have to show you some pics of them too, fruiting pretty well.

I'm just going to go ahead and use them and I will order more poo to use when I have more spawn ready. I would beleive that in the potency because early flush mushrooms aren't nearly as strong as they are in later flushes. I'll let you know if these shrooms are super-potent if it all goes well.
