When using the 50/50+ casing method do i need to sterilize the casing layer?

When using the 50/50+ casing method do i need to sterilize the substrate? It says its not imperative but can help how do you sterilize all this no pot is big enough? Do i have to what do you do. I would be using distilled water.

The casing layer has nothing to do with the substrate, you must always sterilize it, unless its bulk (poo or straw) in which you pasteurize it.

If you meant "do I need to sterilize the casing layer" then yes you should, either in a pressure cooker, or the microwave. Some get away without it though.

OK i mixed the 50/50+ and now can i just put them into zip lock bags and pressure cooked for an hour?
