Ok so I put one of my cakes in a poor mans terr...

Ok so like I said I put one of my cakes in a poor mans terranium. I should have waited like 3-4 more days to let the myc get a chance to strengthen since it's done colonizing. BUUUT I couldn't so i put it in a poor man's terranium. I'm going to hook up a fish tank pump and an air stone to help with air exchange. i have perlite in there now and the RH is 100% which of course wasn't that hard to do considering it's size. Well i was woundering since I didn't give the cake enough time to colonize that if i should put it in a dark place for a few days and not exchange the air to let the cake finish? Someone told me to do this with my casing that I have to let the myc colonize the casing. But I was woundering if this would work for cakes. Also once the cake is completely done colonizing how long could I expect to see pins and then how long would it take the fruits to grow? I know they grow like crazy once they start to pin. I also will have a hole filled with pollyfill to let air exchange. Thanks for any help.

You seriously need to learn some patience if you're going to be a cultivator. You waited ALL of 13 minutes for a reply.

If you had been reading enough on here you would have realized that the cakes NEED to be 100% colonized before you throw them into any fruiting chamber. You are setting yourself up for contams when you don't let your cakes finish. I have seen many of your posts and you ALWAYS seem to be in a rush for one reason or another. Patience is a virtue. The more you research and take the time to do things right, the more you will get out of this hobby.

You should have waited the 3/4days for the colonization to be completed, I would have thought you'd cease to nag the forum for fast answers :P Have you even acknowledged the fact that it's this lack of patience that has gotten you into this mess in the first place? I'd still attempt to colonize the cake in the terrarium, I can't see from those pictures but is the cake 100% colonized on the surface? Don't get your hopes up

New threads are marked by the date, not by the page. If you took the time to actually do anything, you would know this. I think you need to take a break and go back and read which is something you haven't been doing much of.

If you guess would have read then you would have seen that it is 100% colonized! I said that it WAS 100% colonized I just didn't wait for 3-4 after it had been to let it strengthen! So I'm not the one hasn't been reading! So don't tell me what i already know I wan'ted to know the answer to me question! Also sorry if i what i wrote in my post was confusing and you THOUGHT that I didn't wait for the cake to completely colonize but it IS! Also my post would have gone on to the next page and it would have never been answered! So that's why I bumped it!!!!!

The ORIGINAL PF Tek on www.fungifun.org tells you about how long you should expect to wait to see pins. My emphasis wasn't really about when you fruited your jars, but the lack of patience you seem to show in nearly all of your posts. Surely you have read AT LEAST one post where someone has asked the very same questions you have. I could understand if this was one of your first posts, but I've seen you post many times on here. PLEASE take the time to research a little more and learn some PATIENCE!
