Panaeolus papilionaceus?
    #4745528 - 10/02/05 04:48 PM (12 years, 22 days ago)

I found this mushroom on the field and I found this about it:

Edibility:
Not recommended; probably not toxic, but related species maybe mildly hallucinogenic

here's a pic from them: http://www.pilzepilze.de/piga/zeige.htm?name=mehr&pilz=panaeolus_campanulatus&nr=1

Does that mean this one too? Could possibly contain a little psilocin?

* Habitat: Cow pasture,BC Canada, in grass next to dung
* Characteristics of the gills: black grey,
* Characteristics of the stem: 3-4 cm in length,2mm in diameter, color, slimy,I think hollow and thin
* Characteristics of the cap: Very Fragile,2mm in diameter,1cm wide,2cm tall, fading from brown on top to grey in middle to white on bottom, slimy
* Spore print color:Jet Black like ink
* Color that the mushroom bruises: none
* Scent of the mushroom: too small to detect any sent but probably just like a normal mushroom

Now here's the pics I took of it in it's habbitat:

"A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly fifteen hundred pounds of marijuana within about 15 minutes to induce a lethal response... In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many of the foods we commonly consume. For example, eating ten raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death."

No it's definitely not panaeolus semiovatus I've searched the web for that one and most of them don't look like it at all...

sites all mention that they might be slightly psychedelic... they contain seratonin, and that would be the only thing to produce any euphoric/trippy feeling at all. pan camps are not active, nor will they ever be.
