We headed out yesterday to summit this local mountain called Rising Wolf. It is named for a guy named Hugh Monroe, who was a trapper and married into the Blackfeet tribe here in Glacier. His wife and her father's mountains lie to the East of this one. We hiked around here on Wednesday to figure out our route (see my name that scat post). As we were driving up there yesterday morning all we saw was rain, dark skies, and RAINBOWS! I guess it was the same continuous rainbow the whole day, but we drove on both sides of it many times, trying to find somewhere drier to hike. We got upto Rising Wolf to find these crazy waterfalls all over. It snowed the night before and was raining that day, so between all the moisture, there were semiraging waterfalls. We didn't end up getting out of the car but it was wonderous nevertheless. Here are a few highlights.
This proves it is worth going outside even when it doesn't work out like you had planned.
