oh God, I guess I have to say something, all of your choices are good, Floyd is killer, try some Jefferson Airplane, but have you ever tried
just some silence when fried, last night I sat for a hour with no
music on, I was trying to force my mind to go walk down a sidewalk
that I know, and it was the most mind blowing shit that I,ve done in a while.

Alice in Chains "Dirt" is really cool to trip to if you can dig more emotional music when tripping.

really, whatever you like.

i prefer jazzy, improvisational stuff (coltrane, herbie hancock, the grateful dead, mmw, phish, etc) as well as very relaxing psychedelia (donovan, pink floyd, etc). also sometimes crazy electronic music (aphex twin, boards of canada, mantioba/caribou, telefon tel aviv). and sometimes just nice sounding singer-songwriter music (simon & garfunkel,  kings of convenience, etc).

really, whatever you like.

any general 60's bands are always right for having a good ol time ...

but truly, when you are comfortable enough going far out in your mind, it's good to go beyond the same old songs all the time and try more intense music ... this is how i fell in love with mars volta, hearing them for the first time at loud volume while on 7 grams of very very potent mushies ...

suddenly, the whole idea of extended solos, experimentation and lack of consistent structure will make sense to those who never enjoyed them before ...

King Crimson is a solid band to try out, especially the album 'In The Court of the Crimson King' ...

something on the much darker and very groovy side is Pink Floyd's Ummagumma ... either CD is fine, but i found the Live disc to satisfy me on repeat for over 6 hours of a very, very intense acid trip years back ...

next in line for me will be trying out more jazzy work, and maybe even some classical music ... how rad would that be

I always try to listen to something I have never heard before. I try to drag as little of the sober conditioned reality into my trips as possible. It is also a lot of fun to listen to the unheard of songs the next day and compare.

I like either downtempo electronic or hip-hop for tripping.

massive attack, portishead, air, blonde redhead.. all of these are great when tripping. it's like you can hear each layer of sound independently.

radiohead is good too. try kid a, amnesiac, or OK Computer.

but i think the best song ever for tripping is the magnificent "Echoes" by Pink Floyd.

All good recommendations..

don't forget to use the Search function to dig through some older, similar threads. These come up at least once a month, and there's consistently some amazing music listed.
