Heating a PC other than stove?
    #4740273 - 10/01/05 09:03 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

Would a small electric burner heat a PC hot enough? Too much power strain?

Also, I know it would heat it, but wasn't sure about the safety of a propane burner, like for turkey deepfryers.

Propane burner would work fine as long as you are sure that it will support the weight of the PC loaded with jars and water.

My 18qt canner has freaky warnings about using it with any sort of portable heat source. FooMan is probably right about weight being the issue.

Commercial grade resturant hot plate will work.
So will a lab grade hot plate.
The $9.99 cheapo ones - are just that & not advised.

So a normal lab hot plate will put out enough power to heat a 22qt? Didn't know if it would be able to. Nice to know though.

Afoaf is thinking about creating a self contained growing room. Basically, semi-finished basement cover in plastic, double door entry, sanitized to hell, and everything needed inside. PC area, prep area, incubator, fruiting chamber, etc all in the room. Should do wonders against contams. And mean less time sterilizing before doing work.
