With the substrate jars can i just use several pieces of foil like it says in the PF-TEK to act as a lid seeing as over here in the uk the cloesting thing i have to a canning jar ( a jar with tapered ends) is a glass very much the same shape however it has no lid. Would i be able to steralizze and undergo the whole process using only aliminum foil as a lid. (several pieces obviously)

Pete

sure, this has been done by various people around the community. just be very cautious when pc'ing that the water doesn't boiling up enough to get under the foil and into the jars.
best of luck
:peace:
