You could call it T pachanoi, 'San Pedro' is a name the natives used to commonly call T bridgesii. but sure, yea, pedro, whatever.

no... target labels them as "Trichocereus pachanoi". I bought a pair of 20" and 25" in the same pot for $30. Effectively 1/2 what I would pay by length online, and far fatter than what I got online at any time. 4" thick in the middle, slightly more at the base.
And nice dark green too. target had better pedros than entheogen vendors seemed to have.

ive NEVER seen a trichocerus here in nova scotia.
i dont think they ship plants across the boarder so were stuck with shitty canadian nursuries that glue fake flowers on cacti

Bored is what you get watching Pedro cactus specimens grow my friend- it takes quite a while and these fine people think it is nice to find them without the hassle of ordering online. Yes it is quite cheap in comparison but if you take many cuttings from your cactus specimens you can both save money, cut growth time, and enjoy the alkaloid. Not everyone wants to way a couple of years I assure you.

i agree, i buy my seeds as well but yeah it is awesome that u can find a fully grown, mature plant at a local super store.. ive personally been growing 2 pedros for about half a year and im almost at a foot.. so yeah bored is what u get from watching these things grow!.. althou i do love my pedros and am starting 2 more here in a month.. i find winter is the best time to start them

The best solution, of course is to buy huge full grown cacti, as well as start seeds.  If you buy mature cacti, you can know exactly what variety or strain you're getting, after properly IDing. Seeds are often unknown varieties, even to the most professional retailers.

nice...I better get on the cactus train before kids start buying these things and the sale of the mescaline cactus's are banned...I already missed out on trying some of the rc's I wanted too :/...actually I don't think that would happen here in canada...peyote is legal here provided u don't ingest it :P they sell seedlings in toronto in the spring

i look at it like this.... he spent 60 bucks, on a plant that can be chopped and cropped this winter. And within two years effectively double the net weight of the plant.

Yeah... plus a pedro that big took years to grow. If I grew it... I could understand asking so much for it. Plus, the backeberg clone, over all these years has been propagated by cutting. Most people report that full grown pachanoi grown from seed take on very different qualities.

Just from my obsevations on seed grown trichos, is that it is imensly variable, Color, spine color, spine length, growth, shape vary so so much. The backenburg is definetly a store and user friendly specimen. Its sure nice being able to pick up a plant/cutting without gloves.
id guess it to be 6 years oldm, since the original rooting.

Ok, so from what I read, some of you got bored on waiting some years to grow a cactus or some can't at all grow one.

Who said I haven't grown cacti from seeds and then grafted? and nobody getting rich of me because I never bought the damn thing...I just snapped a picture of it when I was there

I had a little extra time before a lunch meeting
so I swooped over to the Tar-jay out of curiosity
and found a Pachanoi in the very same container.
Unfortunately, mine looked to be a pair at one time
and one had gone missing (or rotten). You can see
the big hole in the soil where it was rooted.
It's probably about 3-4' and really stout.
Best part is that it scanned at $58 and I haggled
with the kid at the nursery and got it for $28.
Yeah, nigga!

FUCK I HATE THAT!!! The first time I was thinking wtf kind of cactus is that, I take a closer look and it's just glued on. The guy who thought that up had some balls, I tell you!
