The Experience
    #4736682 - 09/30/05 02:35 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Does the spiritual experience have as much meaning when it can only be be induced by mind altering chemicals? Or is it as sacred as those that are experience through meditation and fasting, without the aid of any drug?

Some discredit such experiences because one has to poisin the body to obtain them.
Others might suggest that it's not important which way you took to get there.. instead, getting there was the goal.

Same same. The plants are not the spiritual experience just as meditation isn't. Both are tools used skillfully or unskillfully. Both have advantages. Meditation less prone to abuse (maybe) and power plants can override ones egoic control in committed doses.

Some learn to ride a bike with the assistance of training wheels.  This results in fewer skinned knees and bruised elbows.

Some learn to ride a bike without training wheels, suffer the skinning and bruising, and get to the same place.

Both eventually experience riding the bike with their own balance, so long as they persist in their learning.

I have a pipe, ready to go - took it out 2 nites ago, read, ruminated watched a move - had confusion, joy etc. ....ignored that pipe's opportunity to spread space time wide, lots to do in this space time.
important stuff, idle stuff, "spiritual" stuff "mundane" stuff.

ignored it in the morning with consideration, neither bored nor not bored, plenty on deck, took it out again last night... ignored it....took it with me to the net in the morning, ignored it.... took it to the bath, had to extract the salvinorin paper from the terrycloth robe pocket as it fell out in all the bumbling around and ignoring, in considering, while making coffee etc. and still did not smoke it.

lots to observe and connect with.

I do "crave" the extra space and connection with the infinite it affords, but space time is not the only range of dimensions.

so, for me, is "The Experience" even "The Experience", or is it just an opportunity for a class of complementary experience, while a ballance of all types of experience are what is sought.

my way or the hi way, not even...
middle way all the way ... if possible.

A spiritual experiance is a spiritual experiance, and all are valid no matter what the context. For some, taking a shit is a spiritual experiance.

The question of using psychedelics/entheogens to have those experiances has a lot more to do with spiritual practices and how you grow and change with them.

I was raised going to church and didn't believe any of it. I credit shrooms ( more than pot or lsd in retrospect) for my awakening that there actualy was more going on, but my most intense subsequent experiences occured without 'drugs'.

Suicide, as in rejection of the world, is one branch that leads on to more branches but I don't think it is the only path.

Altho I achieved some clarity for myself I cannot reject the possibility that I was duped (for entertainment). And so I exist in an element of confusion and distrust.

Let it not be remembered

But that life in all it's glory
Counts mycelium to be on it's side.
