Mean Arogant Ignorant Apes
    #4736048 - 09/30/05 12:23 PM (11 years, 2 months ago)

This thread was deleted earlier because it was perceived as flaming...

This is not directed towards any ONE person at all...and is not meant to belittle anyone.

I should have been asked to change the subject title last time instead of having my entire thread deleted....but it seems these times are filled with paranoia (again I'm not flaming...as I'm not directing this towards anyone...but towards humanity and OUR times).

Original post:

Quote:

Should mean, arrogant, ignorant, apes[not original word used] who hold positions of authority be removed?

There is something weird going on here in the world...and has been going on for awhile. Most people are cowards who blindly follow their shitty leaders....and the leaders know this and take advantage of it. Have you ever seen Braveheart? Don't let someone who doesn't know your community come in and rape your women (or tell you how to behave). Agreeing they should be removed is not enough, be William Wallace and stand up to authority...and at least say FUCK YOU!

I think I'm beginning to see why nothing has ever really changed and why there will continue to be war on this planet.

Do martyrs continue to perpetuate the system? Hell....if I saw what happened to William Wallace or Jesus I probably would not like to go against authority. Do our stories of these "heroes" actually keep us in line?

These are the following two posts that were deleted with the thread.

It's not the stories. It's materialism and technology. Why do anything to change the status quo when you can look at internet porn on your brand new computer?

That and most people fear death too much to attempt anything radical. Most also don't want to be seen as radicals(outside of wearing dreads and protesting).

"Should mean, arrogant, ignorant, apes[not original word used] who hold positions of authority be removed?"

Yes. Especially when it is glaringly obvious that delusions are clouding/influencing their decisions.

I agree...but how does the community remove them...when they have little or no power?

Depends on the community. Protest, petition, assassination, blackmail, buy their influence.

those are good ideas...i think it has to start with the uniting of a community and showing their dislike of the authority.

Ego. Wanting to "fit it". Being a radical has negative connotations(suicide bombers, Timothy McVeigh. etc). It's easier to hope someone else will do something, or that the next person will be better.

Indeed. When you have a group of like-minded people things become much easier. Usually it's not hard to find these people when egregious abuse of power is involved.

From Wikipedia...

For the Executive branch, only those who have allegedly committed "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors" may be impeached. Although treason and bribery are obvious, the Constitution is silent on what constitutes a "high crime."

Procedurally, it is a two-step process. The House of Representatives must first pass "articles of impeachment" by a simple majority. The articles of impeachment constitute the formal allegations. Upon passage, the defendant has been formally "impeached."

Next, the Senate tries the accused. In the case of the impeachment of a President, the Chief Justice of the United States presides over the proceedings. Otherwise, the Vice President, in his capacity of President of the Senate, or otherwise the President pro tempore of the Senate (Temporary President) presides. It should be noted that this would include the impeachment of the Vice President him- or herself. In order to convict the accused, a two-thirds majority of the Senators present is required.

Following conviction, the Senate may vote thereafter to punish the individual only by removing him from office, or by barring him from holding future office, or both. Alternatively, it may impose no punishment. However in the case of executive officers, removal follows automatically upon conviction. The defendant remains liable to criminal prosecution. It is possible to impeach someone even after the accused has vacated his office thus disqualifying the person from such emoluments of office as a pension.

Because it truely isn't just towards one person. Although I may have one in mind...I also have others in mind. But the spirit of the post is not about a specific person but how to deal with authority.

You mean the original message was

m ean, a rrogant, i gnorant, a ssholes

You send me a PM saying the acronym has nothing to do with my nick ? How on earth should i believe that ?
Isn't such a coincide i am the authority over here and you flame authority in your post ?
You say you should have change the tittle (the tittle can't be edited you know), still i read the same M.A.I.A acronym in it ?

I'm waiting for administrative guidelines as to do with this kind of posts, but would you care to explain yourself and answer my questions?

Shouldn't authority figures...be known in the community?

I think it's sad how police have little relationship to the community memebers...the ones they are protecting and serving.

Authority figures are supposed to serve us right?

MAIA

You should believe it because that is what I told you what I ment. Of course you also have the right to believe that I was lying.

Can we use another word besides flame? Does it seem coincidence to you that you are authority here and I decide to talk about authority in a philosophy forum? There doesn't have to be that coincidence unless you decide to see it that way.

I'm sorry I decided to use an acronym that happened to also be your name here. I'm sorry for that. That was dumb on my part.

I asked you a question about how I flamed...and all you did was quote my acronym next to the meaning of the acronym...that is not much of an explanation. Maybe you perceived something that was really not there?

Again...although your post is relevant to this thread...let me say this is not the intended direction of this thread....

I would like this to stay on the topic of how common people deal with authority....thanking you for respecting my wishes.

Yes they are. But not everyone perceives it the same. That's why rules/guidelines need to be simple and specific. And that's why I think people deserve to have answers to how the rules are being applied. It becomes obvious when there is bias.

Not only should they have answers to how the rules apply....I think there should also be a relationship there other than "rule enforcer and rule follower"
