Is 3 to 6 hours of light enough for my casings to pin?

I have 5 small casings that i am trying to pin. i fruited them when the myc. was just under and barely over the casing layer. It has been about 6 days with only 3-6 hours of light a day. Is that enough? I kind of have a stealth grow going, and that's all the lighit i can give them. They appear to be getting some overlay. Not super bad but def. noticable. Will this effect my pin set? I just hope to see some pins in the next 5-7 days.

*sigh*... 1 hour of light a day should be enough.... light isn't the main thing to start pinning though, it's temp and humidity.

Be sure to fan , air circulation is also very important for pinning.

Yup..light doesn't really matter. I had a good flush off a casing that was exposed to 30 mins of light every 3 days.

I way disagree light duration and intensity does make a difference in pin count. They will pin of course with as little as a few milliseconds of light but yields (pin count) will suffer.

Yes...the less light, the smaller the flushes. I reccomend around 2-3 hours of light a day..but not much more than that.

Why no longer than 3 hours of light a day? Would 12 hours a day of direct/indirect have any negative effects (eg. smaller shrooms)?

During pinning light makes a difference IME after that fruitbody maturation needs little light. And no 12/12 will have absolutely no negative effects on yields.

during the pinnning stage IMO - you need 12/12, it just produces the best flushes man.

12/12 won't do any demage..i think even 16/8 would be fine. IME..12/12 doesn't produce the best flushes 3 hours is more than enough for me to get awsome pinsets.
