Ghetto Shroom Drying (low budget)
    #4732755 - 09/29/05 06:52 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

This is a heating pad (rigged with a rheostat dial switch).

Most heating pads - have 3 settings (high-medium-low).
Heating pads can be had at thrift stores for a couple bucks.

Then there is - a plain old screw in LIGHT BULD.
3 for a buck & the dollar store.

Any of these items can be used as a HEAT SOURCE.

With FIRE HAZARDS in mind.
You can use a cardboard box as a container, with a heating pad, or a light bulb placed in the bottom.

Bear in mind - a light buld should not touch the cardboard.
So - simply place it in an empty tin can - or whatever.

Cobble togather any type grate (or grates) - you have on hand - to place the shrooms on. Or, find a few at a thrift store (cheap).

You can stack the grates - using tin cans - as spacers.

Poke a few holes in the boxes sides - NEAR THE BOTTOM.

Fold the cardboard box - top closed - but - leave room for air passage.

Heat convection from the hot pad - or light bulb - will draw fresh air into the bottom holes - and - as we all know heat rises - so warm air will exit through the top.

There you go - a ghetto convection mild heat shroom dryer.

If you want to upgrade - throw in a computer fan - for forced air movement.

Next step up the ladder is this.

This is a small ADJUSTABLE thermostatic ceramic heater (with a fan inside), which can often be found at thrift stores for a few bucks.

You can however place a small ceramic heater in a fair size metal or wood container (foot locker - old filing cabinet - free standing closet, dead fridge - or whatever space you can manage).

Again, using grates (whatever you can manage - like screen door or window sliders to hold the shrooms, place the heater below the grates - set it on low - with the fan ON & you have a forced air heating system for shroom drying.

Whichever - you use. BE WISE. TEST RUN & Babysit the thing & monitor the tempurature - to insure - YOU ARE NOT CREATING A FIRE TRAP HAZARD.

The utter top of the line is an American Harvest SnackMaster dehydrator. Which - can SOMETIMES - be found at thrift stores - for a few bucks. If you ever spot one - snap that puppy up. You will NEVER regret it.

here's my ghetto dehydrator/incubator. it is a stack grate turned upside down being used as a rack and a $10 fan type space heater w/ built in thermostat. i keep jars on the rack during incubation for a consistent temp and then the shrooms go on the rack after harvest to dehydrate (takes about 2-3 days). there is also a piece of cardboard under the rack to keep an extra layer of protection b/w my goods and the carpet (carpets are real fucking gross.)

You are a filipina sex goddess who wants to fuck me until I fall asleep, so then you can tickle my balls and see if the legend of my diamond filled nutsuck is true.  I am a white man from costa rica, who smells like lime jello.

I can flash/jtag/repair 360's, pm for details.
