well me and my friend live in Salem, Oregon and we just found out about the shrooms that might be growing in our area... Lately we have been picking many species lookin for the magic ones.. we found some that we think are azures cuz they matched up with the pics of azures on here. plz post more azure pics from this area and discribe what they look like and what the lookalike trademarks are. We will try to get digi cam shots within the next couple of days.

heh, there's tons of pics/info on azures out there and it's not hard to find with a simple search =/. Take a spore print. Using pictures to identify wild mushrooms isn't reliable. If you could post a good pic of them I'm sure someone could help you out. Buy a good ID book. DH

If you found them in Salem they're probably not azures. It is very possible that you found cyanescens, they look very similar. I've posted a variety of azure pic's under the forum Mushroom Hunting, search for "Azures!!! (Pics are here!!!)" and "Oregon Hunting".

Hehe, DethHed! Man, you just said that using pictures to identify wild mushrooms isn't reliable! Hehe, then you told this guy to post a good pic and you're sure someone could help him out! Hehe, that's hilarious!!!!! :) I know, I know! Yeah, take your own pic and an experienced hunter can possibly identify it for you. Although, please do not rely on a picture found on the internet, alone, to base your identification upon. There are too many look-alike mushrooms that grow wild. Consider 20,000 species at least in the PNW!!!!! Man, it takes experience, so be careful and let your friends here at the Shroomery help you out, just as DethHed said. We're here for YOU. That is WHY we're here, bro! Stay cool!-Levi7.

I meant a total newbie using pictures to ID is just asking for trouble, but when people have picked a certain mushroom, it's not hard to ID a picture of it. Know what I mean? :p

This threads over a year old. I haven't seen Levi around for quite some time. Last I heard he was having some personal problems. Hope he's doing alright though. And by the way your not going to find weilli and cyans in the same place unless your cultivating them.

Way to bring a year old post back from the dead.
psiclops: I'll bet you $5 that you didn't find Ps. weilii, they only grow in Georgia and they all died off about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
