im not sure, i was thinking of using a food dehydrator to dry my mushrooms.. does anyone have any experience with this?

you could always just lay them out infront of a fan

I've seen a great set up in a closet. Their was a shelf in the middle that had two American Harvest food dehydrators and their was a dehumidifier set up underneath that set to the lowest possible rh that it's settings would allow. Two 3-5" fans were placed on top of the dehydrators faced to suck air out of the units. Harvest fresh to cracker dry in less than 18 hours.

A regular dehydrator set to the highest setting will dry out your mushrooms in about 6-8 hours if you don't care about potency loss.

Regular dessicators aren't hot enough to damage any tryptamine.

What is a dessicator? Desiccant is a bead-like substance that absorbs the moisture out of the air and it doesn't get hot. A dehydrator is a machine that uses hot air to dry out fruits, vegetables and meats. Why would he be worried about damaging tryptamines? It's psilocin and psilocybin that you would worry about "damaging". I guess he isn't drying an active anyway, so get a dehydrator and crank it up high. Mine goes up to 155F.

I actually just put mine in the dehydrator about and hour ago. Its a regular old dehydrator that you plug in and it gets hot =) Ive made jerky with it before so I am assuming its a high temp one. How long do you think it will take?

It has like 6 racks. They are all on but only the top rack has veggies on it.

Yes, I will be obtaining one of these this weekend. Found a walmart that has them. Woot!

Any idea how long for the hot dehydrator I am currently using?

Yup.

Had to buy one at Wal Mart,$49.99 :frown:

Hurry up and send me mine Road, only have 60 days left before I have to return it,LMAO.

Take advantage of Wally Worlds most liberal return policy peeps. Digital cams for a weekend of pic taking. I bought an underwater digital cam, took it to Jamaica for a month then returned it when I got back with a couple blurry pics and said it didn't work good enough. Gave me my money right back. Even dremels for a weekend project. I didn't make the policy or rules, I just play by them, lol.

Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony.

I do the same thing. Got a heat gun to strip the paint on the fence for the weekend.
I used to get games consoles for the week when I was younger, I also do it in music stores, copy and return dvds/cds. 60days is great. I only get 16 or 21 days in my shops.

I can just picture some poor old woman getting wasted after drying out her fruit in a dehydrator laced with psilocybin by some member here.
