Fresh print
    #4731782 - 09/29/05 03:17 PM (11 years, 2 months ago)

A quick question. I UTFSE but didn't find an answer.

If I make a print out of a fresh print does it still need to soak in the syringe for 6-24 hours. The print was taken and immediatly made into a syringe. I have jars ready to knock up. How long should I wait to be safe. I don't want to leave the jars virgins for too long.
Will It hurt if I go ahead and inoculate right away?
Thanx

The spores need to be hydrated. Sure you can inoculate now, but you may not see any germination. Your jars will be fine for 6-24 hours regardless.

The jars are already 24+ hours old. I was hoping since the print was fresh the spores would be hydrated. Would 6 hours be enough? Thanks!!

You should be fine. If jars went bad that quickly, then people whose jars take up to 14 days to germinate would be fucked, wouldn't they? I'm with Scat on this one, if the print is fresh, go for it. If they aren't hydrated they will be eventually from the moisture in the jars. You do need to learn patience in this hobby though.

if the needles still hot it will kill the spores

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but WTF does that have to do with anything in this thread?

It won't hurt a bit, if anything it may just take an extra day or two for germination.

DeathCo, it may kill the first bit in the water on the way out but i bet you would still get some viable spores out in that first squirt after flaming the needle.

:peace:
