Kinda hard to tell cuz the pic is so small. From what I can see everything looks fine as of now. You may get overlayed though. There are some thick sections of mycelium I can see.

Did you patch the heavy spots of growth when the mycelium came through? What kinda casing layer are you using? Temp, rh?

what do you have there? is it cakes crumbled and then a casing layer applied? or is it something spawned to a bulk substrate?
need to know that info too.
if it is some cakes crumbled and cased then you should be fruiting that already, patch the aggressive areas and go to fruiting.
otherwise tell us what you have there in that pan.

:peace:

welll it was a mycobag from sporeworks that was fully colonized (b+ strain) so i broke it up and then just cased it with a mix of peat and verm. i thought about getting some limestone and some oyster shell but i didnt know if it would make a big enough difference for it to matter.

well, with peat, you do want to use some oyster shells to adjust the PH of your casing, that could affect your yield.

But is this casing already in the fruiting chamber?? You don't want to let the casing layer fully colonize like you would the substrate.

basically we need more info to help you.....so far we have your casing layer, but we need to know

1. did you fruit right when you saw the mycelium hit the casing layer.

2. what are your fruiting conditions, temp, humidity,

3. did you patch the heavy spots of mycelium prior to fruiting

basically tell us everything you can about the casing, and what you have done thus far.

hey srgtm1a - out of curiosity, what do you mean by "patching the heavy spots of myc when growing?"

When you see heavy spots of "thick" mycelim growth you do what is called patching. What that is is really simple.

You are just covering the spot that has thick mycelium growth with a thin layer of casing material. This will allow for the other mycelium to catch up to it and help to avoid overlay.
