hey,
i'm using pf tek, it's been a little over two weeks, and mah jar had three BIG white spots where i had innoculated, then it seemed like growth had REALYY slowed down. i loosened the lid a little to let some air in, and BAM, for the next few days, i notiece growth EVERY DAY! it was great. but i've also noticed tiny droplets of condensation on the inside of the jar against the glass, can someone tel lme whats goin on and if its bad or not? should i keep the lid loose? or should i re-tighten it? also, in the white mycelium spots, i've notice tiny grain-like things that are NOT white...i don't think they're contams, they look more jus like the brown rice flour/verm. mixture, but does that make sense? or should i be worried? thanks for any help people.

sounds like things are going well. keep the lids lose, they love air. Don't worry too much about the condinsation in the jars ( unless there are puddles of water on the bootom of the jars. ). keep an eye on any color change. the mycellium can get a little yellow if they get water damage.

cool, thanks a lot! if i do begin to see puddles of water on the bottom, or if the mycelium does begin to turn yellow because of water damage, what can i do? also, i would have loosened the lid earlier, but however since this is my first jar, i didn't wana do it too early because it increases chances of contams, especially in early stages you know? atleast i think so..
