A brief newbie question--pf jars w/o sterilization

Ok, here's my deal: The other day I prepared 12 half-pint jars with pf's brf/verm/water mixture so that I could pressure cook them and inoculate. Unfortunately, unforseen circumstances made it so that I was unable to PC the jars after I packed them. So, the jars have basically been sitting around for about 4 days now without being sterilized. My question is: is it still ok to sterilize these jars, and will they be as effective as they would've been if immediately inoculated. I realize that the environment in the jars now is extremely conducive to mold and bacteria growth, so thats why i just wanted to make sure. Thanks in advance.

One more thing: My PC doesn't have a metal rack, and there doesn't seem to be a good way to fashion one effectively. CAn I just line the bottom of the cooker with a thick washcloth such that the glass does not touch hot metal?
thanks again

Look for mold and open them up to take a whiff. If they have molded, you will definitely know it. If they haven't, PC those suckers!

Thanks so much for the quick help guys-- upon whiffing, i think i'll probably just redo the batch (i still have tons of brf and verm left). Anyways, thanks again, its your generosity and understanding that helps others develop knowledge and skills that would otherwise be hard to obtain.

if you have to wait more time to pressure cook them, put them in your freezer and let them thaw in warm water for an hour or so before your ready to use them
i did this with my first two pf jars full of popcorn
