Pedro parasites?
    #4726904 - 09/28/05 08:45 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

I have these bugs around my place and the only time I see them is when they are sitting on my Pedros. I haven't seen much damage done to my plants, yet. I just wanted to know if anyone could identify these bugs and let me know if these bugs are harmful to cacti or not.

I've tried google'ing up pics of Pedro feeders but haven't came up with much real info. Any help would be greaty appreciated.

I call them stink bugs, in fact they probably will help your cactus
by eating other bugs,  :2cents:

I don't know much about specific predators of pedros... but what I'll do for you is look through my Audobon(sp?) society book of insects and see if I find a match... just for the hell of it.

If I do I'll PM you

Definitely some kind of chinch, but not sure is it plant or meat eating species. It really looks like assassin bug, and it probably is.

hey I just remembered assassin bug is suposed to be a very fast runner as it must be able to catch its prey. Try to scare it and see if it runs fast.

Any time I get close to them, they just fly away...
