It's me!
    #4725947 - 09/28/05 05:04 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

Hey

New here, thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an avid psychonaut, which is a rare thing in my line of work. I teach self defense, both martial arts and armed combat skills. I'm a private instructor and I work for a few of the larger training companies out there (Gunsite is an example, although I do not and have nver worked for them, it's just the type of place that I work at). I also do part-time work as a skip-tracer and a private detective. I'm not a cop or anything! I just enjoy the things I do for security. I have a federal firearms license and I enjoy shooting. I have trained bodyguards that now work for Hollywood stars and diplomats in Iraq.

But, back to the fun stuff! I've always been interested in drugs. I've tried almost every drug that exists! The only two I haven't done of the big groups are crack and heroin. I really love tripping. I have a lot of land in the mountains so I can just pack up a 4-Wheeler or a horse with some food and a backpack, then head off into the mountains for a few days of tripping. Lots of fun.

I'm also taking classes, part time, in chemistry. I'd like to get a degree in chemistry and in Spanish, as a lot of work that I do now is done in South America.

well, thats me. Hope to talk to most of ya soon. great site here, i've learned TONS from it.

That sounds like a badass profession. Even more proof that responsible drug users don't fuck up society!

Welcome to the Shroomery, enjoy your stay!

My title is actually special agent! haha juuuust kidding.

I have trained a lot of federal law enforcement officers. I used to contract for FLETC (Fed Law Enforcement Training Center), but I prefer to teach private citizens howto defend themselves now.

I think that the government needs to be taught LESS how to kill and I think that the citizenry needs to be taught MORE how to defend themselves.

Yea, it's a lot of fun.  It's funny that damn near every job in America requires a drug test, but when I go to teach at some of the defense schools I work for, I don't have to piss.

"Want to flip burgers? Pee in this cup!"

"Want to use a machine gun? Lets roll!"

Gotta luv it

Well, lets say "late twenties to early thirties".  I never worked for the government directly, just as a contractor.  I really hated working with law enforcement because they assumed since they carried a gun that they were good with it.  I assumed the same thing.  I don't put my life on the line every day and I rarely carry a firearm on my person, although I am licensed to.  I put about 300 rounds a week, usually, through the pistol that I would carry if I needed to and thats just my personal shooting.  When I'm working I can put 15K rounds down a week in demonstrations and such (that also includes using a sub machine gun on three round or full auto bursts).  I consider myself a good shot.

So I assumed that the cops and other such LEO's would do the same.  Some of them almost missed the dang targets at fifteen feet.  I thought I was going to teach advanced shooting but I had to teach them how to line up their sites to hit the target.

Bottom line, if you are 20 feet or more away from a cop who has his gun drawn, you can probably run and not get hit

They are critical. Most people that carry concealed go to the range 1-2x a year and pop off a few rounds. I teach people to shoot 2 targets in less than 2 seconds, drawing from a concealed holster.

Realistically though, carrying a gun isn't necessary in most places. I carry one around my property sometimes because I might see something that is yummy and I have seen mountain lions around here. I keep my pistol in the car almost all of the time. I carry a folding Applegate knife that is double sided. That plus 10+ years of martial arts experience should be all I need to get out of a bad situation.

Thats a bold statement.  My uncle is in charge of the shooting range the local cops use to re ceritfy ever year.  I would say 70 percent of the them are good shots and would not miss withen 20 feet.

here in spain I don?t fell like I need to carry a gun, I got huntting guns at home but never thought of them as a defense. If someday I need to use them I guees that if I can kill two birds ( palomas, I don?t know how to say that in english) from 50 meters with two shoots I could do same with an armored man

Most cops are shitty shots.  For me to hit something 20 feet away and moving is a feat.  Now, I do it 99% of the time, but thats a good shot.  I bet that most cops can't do that.  Most cops are just wanna-be gun-nuts.  I don't think that any LEO has won any pistol, rifle, long rifle or shotgun championship in the past 10-15 years.

Even special forces soldiers don't shoot that much.

Of course, if the cop has a shotgun, don't run
