did you see them before they died?
    #4724038 - 09/28/05 04:22 AM (18 years, 6 months ago)

i was talking to my dad the other day. he was telling me in detail, a story which i had heard before about a doors concert he saw. my father and a buddy snuck through a fence to see the jimmy morrison and the boys play in daytona beach in 1968. i find this amazing, to be able to see a musical icon musicians who die young are worshipped like gods. now i want to know who has seen some other famous acts that lost frontmen or mebers. post a blurb about your experience.

im also adding some of the "new" bands existing members have formed, just to see how many people spent $$ to see em with out their most famous member.
have u seen em?
You may choose many

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. ~ Albert Einstein

I saw Melvin Seals and the JGB this year at Schwagstock. Melvin Seals is someone who shouldn't be missed. He was the keyboard player in the Jerry Garcia Band.

I saw Panteara a lot before Dime Bag Darrell passed away. There were 3 differnt occations where my sister and I got invited to meet them face to face backstage. Dime was sucha down to earth person. I loved him. As a guitar player myself I really admired everything about him. The fact that he was soo down to earth and could rock out the guitar like he did was just almost like super human. It makes me so sad to even think about his passing. It just wasn't right for him to go like he did. He didn't deserve it.

RIP Dime

I saw Terence McKenna speak before he died. It was back when I just started learning who he was, however. He spoke at a bookstore. I think he was promoting "Food of the Gods". I wish I could have gone up to him and said something, but I really had no idea what to say. I should have bought a book and had him sign it. Wish I could have heard Timothy Leary speak
