Can something like this be used for humidity?
    #4721864 - 09/27/05 07:11 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

Hey guy's  this is my first post but not my last lol. I was wondering if something like these could be used to create humidity in my Terrarium, I am about to take on my first grow in a week, and I have done alot of research and I am going to use perlite for my first time to create humidity, I just want to know if something like these would also work? any Idea's? Thanks guys

From what I understand that would create far too much humidity. Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what people who use coolmists say.

Personally, I use the lo-tek pickle jar method. Keeps perfect humidity, is cheap as hell and is easy to set up/maintain

If you can get it to fit\hook up properly, I don't see why not. You might want to get an RH guage - I don't know how well it'd pump the moisture out. Looks kind of off-brand.

yea plus u gotta make sure u have a container with the right dimensions and water depth because those foggers always splash water up and spray everywhere if the water is too shallow and theyll just turn off if it gets shallower. or if its too high it wont fog well at all. its gonna spray water so the container its in needs to be able to catch this spray so u dont get a big pool of water in ur fruiting chamber. so ur gonna be spending a lot of time messing with it, getting it in the center of this container, making sure its not spraying everywhere, and u gotta always make sure it has the right amount of water. these things will raise the humidity to ~100% in a very short amount of time, but in my opinion, they are way too much of a hassle. the golden circle is extremely sensitive, and i think the longest one's lasted for me has been about 2 months. try a tropic-aire humidifier from petco. or make ur own with a fish pump and some tubing and a bottle. reading the fogger instructions wont save u from the hassle it causes clap clap yay

100% humidity can easily be achieved in a tightly sealed container with wet perlite on the bottom. Why complicate something simple?

I'm messing with this humidifier right now on my first grow, and it seems to make too much heat!
So I switched back to the simple spraying/misting a few times a day.

If your humidifier is generating heat, you have the wrong kind. An ultrasonic or a coolmist is the kind you need. You don't want the kind that create steam.
