New Mexico
Gymnopilus liquiritael
Gymnopilus luteofolius (Peck) Singer. (Stamets, 1996).
Gymnopilus sapineus
Gymnopilus spectabilis
Panaeolus papilionaceus (not active)
Psilocybe azurescens Stamets Gartz. (Stamets, 1996). (Introduced). (not native)

Gymnopilus mushrooms really arent worth it.
and youre more likely to find Psilocybe azurescens in an oregon dishwasher than anywhere in NM.

oregon dishwasher? :wtf: :what: :cuckoo: :rofl2:

what if newbius maximus here does find an azure out in one of those fields

seriously though, gymnopilus species taste like bitter asshole. you will be sorry you ate them cause of how bad they taste. and the high is good at some points, but they are very mild in potency and alot of these NASTY mushrooms need to be eaten to feel effects. By the time your high your stomachs like "dude what the fuck you tryin' to do to me here" and it all just makes for a time thats not going to go as good as you would have wished.

and hes right your probably not going to locate an azure.

your better off growing a few little cakes for yourself.

i can ID it, its easy. its a rotten agaricus.
but as for EXACT species, ill guess Agaricus campestris.
but then i don't have the nessesary justification to make that ID for sure.
i just diddnt see how that information would benefit you, all you really SEEMED to need to know was that you arent going to be finding active psilocybes. so dont assume you have found any. thats bad practice even if you ARE in an area where they grow.

you say they were growing on the stumps or near them? if they were growing on wood then they arent agaricus.
