Fall 2005 PNW finds
    #4721338 - 09/27/05 07:30 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

The season is close for Cyans/Azures/Libs/Cyanfibrilosa and the million other active mushrooms found in the PNW.

Use this thread to post your finds. Keep the posts on topic. Let's not ask where mushrooms were found or if you can get prints or any of that other crap. Pictures only!

Ok Gumbs, I found these on Sept. 17, 2005. I guess that doesn't count as Fall 2005, but it was an early find.

Yeah it's been raining here in Vancouver for almost 2 straight days. I think some parts got 50mm. Time to visit the cow pastures and avoid the disgruntal farmers and their shotties. Are golf courses a good place to find libbies? Like tiny pitch&putt courses??

Well, yesterday was the first time we've had a solid rain here in at least a week or so. I see plenty of rain in the forecasts Ive been checkin, however it's described by the weather people as "scattered showers"...at any rate, if there is rain for the next several days it looks to be pretty inconsistent.

Then there's the Temp question: Even with these scattered showers, are these current temps COLD enough for the cyans to begin growing??

Maybe some of the vets will chime in with some answers here...my guess is that there will be cyans growing by the 8th. However I doubt there will be much of anything big enough to pick (remember that from pinner to adult, their life cycle takes 4-7 days, roughly).

Good luck to all of ya!

...i'll see you fellas in the alder beds

Well I live in the Snohomish County area and we've got mycelium growing everywhere in the alder chips, so hopefully this means there will be cyans growing soon. A few of my friends have already gotten some libs out of the pastures, I just I hope it keeps up with the good rainy weather Hehe.

went out looking for P Cyan's but found a psilocybe resembling a heavily blued liberty cap but it was growing out of alder wood chips.
Also, the stem is extremely supple. it is imposible to twist off the stem to take a spore print. need scissors.

found in WA.

No blueing yet...

Definate Blueing

Same.. exept worse picture

this is all I found looking for liberties in a cow feild, anyone have an idea of what it is?

I remember looking at a find on the forum with the liberty looking mushrooms that were also growing in wood chips, but I can't find it. They look like liberty caps to me, I will go back looking for more tomorrow.

I think there are some liberty look-a-likes that grow in woodchips. and they're poisonous. i'm not positive about that though

I'm taking a spore print right now. I'm pretty sure it will be purple brown.
