Can anyone tell me how/why all the .gif/.jpg/whatever kind of pic exists on the shroomery was put on my harddrive. all the gremlins, peeps avis, the works. there were 4 files with over 3000 images mysteriously put there, anyone have a clue?

You didn't specify the location of the files but it sounds like your browser cache to me.

the files were located on my (C:) harddrive, with some weird file names like KCPMS and 3 other files named similarly.
Now i am no computer wiz, so can ya help me out here and tell me how this may have happened.

browser cache... everything you view with your web browser is stored on your
system, go to the tools menu in your browser, under options there should be
a tab for privacy or content, there you can find the controls to empty your cache

you can get rid of the browser cache, but my browser (msie) keeps a hidden cache too... this bastard slows down everything, because it not only stores every pic and html i've ever viewed, it also stores every piece of media i've ever downloaded... luckily i have cyberscrub, it clears those caches and makes my puter run much faster and smoother... opens up gigs of HD space as well :thumbup:

windowsXP also keeps a hidden backup of your system as well, you can turn it off
through contrl panel and use a program called directory freedom to delete it, it's
an old dos program but it works under XP and it's pretty useful
