??? Can I use this with my horsepoo bulk substrate preparation?
?? How much should I use it?

I pasteurized the poo using the oven method. Packed the poo inside a plastic ham-cooking-bag and cooked it inside oven at 170-180F'
<80C' for about two hours.
Now its waiting for mycelium. I have three Organic Whole Rye Meal  + Vermiculite substrate jars under few weeks of slow colonisation and one of them is almost 100%. So I am going to chop the cake using electric grinder and mix it with hpoo. Then put it back to colonisation for few days or a week.. and then case it with wet (vermiculite + crunched leca grow rocks)-mix.

Sounds good? Suggestions? Corrections? .. please
This is my first grow on progress.

I've never seen much of a need for a pH buffer. Some of these more 'advanced' theories may have a place in harder-to-fruit mushrooms, but if you use horse manure and straw properly, you'll get great flushes. I've used store-bought charcoal (made by the same company that makes Verm/Perlite, the green bag? From Lowes I believe) in a casing layer before to help absorb the mycelial wastes, but again, with psilocybe cubensis, it's not really necessary.

To answer your question, however, NaHCO3 will act as a pH buffer.

Green mould like a low ph, most of mine contam with green so I added a lot of lime to my casing.
