Poor Mans Cookbook

Lets make one. I figure 5 dollars max per serving? To start here is an Arizona Skillet. Its damn good and you can keep it in the fridge for a while.

1 onion -- chopped
1 green bell pepper -- chopped
2 cloves garlic -- minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 can tomatoes, canned
1 can kidney beans, canned
1 can corn, canned
8 ounces macaroni -- elbow

Saute onion, green pepper, garlic, chili powder, salt, and cumin
until vegetables are tender. Stir in tomatoes, breaking with spoon. Add
kidney beans and corn; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Toss with elbows.

Reposting the heartstopper. This one will hurt you but its cheap and REALLY good. If you put it the fridge though, the grease will coagulate and its gross.

Fry 8-10 strips of bacon and leave the grease in the pan.
Fry 1.5 lb shredded or chopped potato in the grease.
When the potato is half done add chicken (or bake the chicken and add it later).
Chop the bacon and add it back in with a cup or so of chedder cheese.
Feeds 3-4

The chicken baccon chedar would be GREAT with a baked potato...

My tip o tha day is to watch for boneless beef specials at your local market.. Pick up a nice cheep roast and ask the butcher to grind it. Should be about a buck fifty a pound..

Three pack of ramen noodles (any flavor, I throw the "seasoning" out)
One can diced potatoes.
World Harbors Lemon Pepper and Garlic sauce/marinade (square plastic bottle in ketchup aisle)
Italian seasoning
Tablespoon of olive oil

1. Prepare ramen noodles, do not add flavor pack.
2. Fricassee diced potatoes in frying pan with olive oil, add pinch of italian seasoning, mix till coated. Fry till outer becomes soft, mushy.
3. Add potatoes to noodles, add sauce to taste

Serves 2-3 people, and IS DANK

A few pork chocps.
A few patatoes.
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
Garlic to taste

Microwave the patatoes in a dish with a lid. I like to put butter on them before I put them in and make sure I have a lid on the dish. Steams the patatoes in butter goodness.

Anyway, on high heat brown both sides of the pork chops. Reduce heat and add one can of cream of mushroom soup. Umm, add garlic if you feel like it. Let simmer until patatoes done and pork cooked through.

Use the cream of mushroom soup as gravy on your patatoes. Mmmm, love this dish.

Shepards Pie

2 cups mashed potatos , 2 cups ground beef , 1 can creamed corn, black pepper and salt to taste, This is really vauge, my grandmother made this for my mother as a child, and I grew up on it, there really isent a recipe, basicly just mix mashed potatos , ground beef, and creamed corn as much as you like , potatos are cheap , a can of creamed corn is cheap , the meat is all that might cost a bit, all and all this is less than 5$ for enough to feed a family, and it keeps awhile, actually is best when cold in my humble opinon  , another one that works , is missouri casoralle . It is just a mixture of sliced and boiled potatos , ground beef, and a can of stewed tomatos . enjoy -Tranceharper

mash some potatoes (cheap) or cook some rice (also very cheap) or even noodles(somewhat cheap)...

heat some cream of mushroom in a pot and serve over rice/potatoes/noodles ... anything can be added depending on choice but the best things to add are ground beef and freshly ground black pepper. A dash of red wine can be added to the cream of mushroom for a fancy taste.

CHEAP person materials:
beans
rice
flour

dont buy ramen please, theres a million other healthy things that this planet provides that are cheap and filling besides machine-made noodles that have been sitting in asian factories for years produced only for profit, and loaded with who knows what.

there was a thread recently about goolash

easy to make goolash:
1 can diced tomatoes
package of noodles (any kind besides ramen >.<)
ground beef

cook the noodles or shells or whatever, fry up the beef, mix in the can of tomatoes and ground beef to the noodles, add black pepper or seasonings of any choice to taste.
