Scloretia? Should work just fine, although personally if I had some, I'd want to just plain eat 'em. Lucky one to have plenty to tinker with, what fun! (Of course you'd need to grind 'em, just soaking wouldn't do too much I don't think, especially due to density)
A benefit of using lemon juice is filtering out the mushroom flesh, it seems to cut way down on stomach troubles, as well as quicker onset since the active chemicals are already in solution. The first time I did it I didn't filter...yuck. I can still recall the sensation right now- 3 years later.

I'd let it sit for longer, and squeeze 'em out real good. Powder makes for a quick extraction, but fresh should be do-able. Report your results!

Well since this thread is resurected anyway I might as well put in some input. The few solo trips I've had have been horrible. I would lemon tek 2-4 grams and spend my trip writhing on my bed with intense stomach discomfort and depressing thought loops of why I shouldn't have tripped. Granted, there's a lot of reasons why I could have had the thought loops but lately I've switched to making tea and it seems to hit me just as hard but without the stomach ache (I would eat the soggy lemon soaked mushies after). I've yet to have strong tea by myself so I'm not sure if I would have a bad trip as my friends humour is always great at pulling me out of it. ANYWAYS I think the reason I even started typing was because I think everyone who tries this tek should try plain tea as well because if you're comparing drug dissolved in solution to eating plain fungus of course it's going to hit you harder. The question is whether or not the lemon actually does anything. I've heard it converts 4-PO-DMT to 4-HO-DMT so it hits you harder just like how 4-HO-DiPT hits harder than 4-AcO-DiPT but I'm not sure if that's been proven. Damn I'm tired. Wasn't there a cranberry juice thread too?
edit: guess I'm really tired

Wow- thanks for the chem theories, even if it would be impossible for those of us without chemistry knowledge or labs to verify. Interesting stuff!
The last time I made tea, it was roughly similar to a lemon shot. I prefer lemon juice because it doesn't require heat, is quick to prepare, produces a small amount of liquid to ingest, and with my little method allows easy "precise" dosing based on each person's desires. So does tea, I guess, but measuring by the shot glass is dead simple.
I have not had any stomach discomfort when filtering the mushroom flesh out of the brew.

I have done the lemon tek twice now. Here are my results:
Experience 1 - 0.85 grams:
# What liquid are you using? mixture of lemon and grapefruit juice- freshly squeezed
# How much liquid did you drink the powder with? (oz) ~2 oz
# Time to "first alert" (aka, "whoa, something's definitely going to happen") ~20 minutes
# Time to onset of visual disturbance dunno
# Time to peak (rough estimate) 1 hour
# Time to first sign of diminishing effects ~3.5 hours
# Time to baseline (indiscernable effects) ~4.5 hours
Notes: First of all, this "survey" sucks big time. It should include questions on dosage and species/strain (if known) and wild or grown. This was an extraordinarily powerful trip- particularly for 0.85 grams. I had taken these mushrooms once prior to this experience and had a fairly overwhelming (but good) trip from about 2 grams. 0.85 grams certainly surprised me. I tripped with three other people who had 1.15grams lemon tek'd and they were basically unable to move and had powerful visuals.
Experience 2- 0.5grams:
# What liquid are you using? lemon juice- freshly seqeezed . # How much liquid did you drink the powder with? (oz) ~2 oz # Time to "first alert" (aka, "whoa, something's definitely going to happen") ~45 minutes
# Time to onset of visual disturbance dunno
# Time to peak (rough estimate) ~1.5-2 hours
# Time to first sign of diminishing effects ~3.5-4 hours
# Time to baseline (indiscernable effects) ~4.5 hours
Notes: This trip utilized two strains grinded up together in a coffee grinder. The strains were both grown indoors and were Golden Teacher and Ecuador or Cambodian (cannot remember). Unfortunately both doses of mushrooms were over 6 months old, so it's highly likely that they had lost a great deal potency... or maybe were simply less potent to begin with.
Either way, 0.5g was quite underwhelming. The others in the group were the same as the previous experience, used 1.25g and also said it was underwhelming. It was still enjoyable, but just very, very mild.
****************
So there's two experiences with very opposite results.

a question i have about a lemon tek, i was thinking the other night when i was making a tea, but forgot to check the milk and wrecked it we'd been away camping for awhile so just didnt think...
iv tried a lemon tek with fresh squeezed lemon and 2g finely chopped cubes, but just couldnt down it because of the vomit like texture. i did get half down, not easily though. i proceeded to just chew down another 4g dry and have a blast!
iv got no problem with the lemon, its just the chunks, the texture. can i make a tea style of thing? like soak the cubes for **minutes and strain, drink the lemon?
this is sort of what iv been doing with a regular tea, put the cubes in a cup, squeeze in 1/4 a medium~large lemon and let sit for 10minutes, then just make tea as per usual. i dont think i notice any extra kick in potency though, so i presume i need to eat or drink the shoorms too?

So compounds found in the lemon fruit: ppm given when provided
ASCORBIC-ACID 5,208 - 5,566 ppm ASH 28,000 ppm BETA-CAROTENE 2 ppm CAFFEIC-ACID 21 - 35 ppm CALCIUM 700 - 3,227 ppm CARBOHYDRATES 111,000 - 863,000 ppm CITRIC-ACID 59,500 ppm CITROPTEN D-GALACTURONIC-ACID DIOSMIN 5 ppm ERIOCITRIN 1 ppm FAT 28,000 ppm FERULIC-ACID 14 - 40 ppm FIBER 17,000 - 47,000 ppm HESPERIDIN 44 ppm HESPERIDOSIDE IRON 23 - 72 ppm KILOCALORIES 2,640 /kg LAURALDEHYDE LIMONOATE-A-RING-LACTONE LUTEIN 0.12 - 1.2 ppm MUCILAGE NARINGOSIDE NIACIN P-COUMARIC-ACID 6 - 102 ppm PHOSPHORUS 100 - 1,979 ppm POTASSIUM 14,700 ppm PROTEIN 10,000 - 111,000 ppm RIBOFLAVIN 2 - 3 ppm RUTIN 1 - 2 ppm SALICYLATES SINAPIC-ACID 14 - 18 ppm SODIUM THIAMIN 4 - 6 ppm WATER 850,000 - 894,000 ppm
So that would mean that after water, carbohydrates, and protein, citric acid is the 4the most prevalent compound. This is in the fruit though. In the juice I would be willing to bet that it would be 2nd.
Other acids listed in order of concentration then just as listed for compounds of undetermined concentration: Ascorbic Acid(vitamin C, which even at its most concentrated level would only be about 1/10 the citric acid content), P-Coumaric-Acid, Ferulic Acid, Caffeic-Acid, Sinapic-Acid, & D-Galacuronic-Acid.
Seeing as psiliocin is a consideration here and considering it's adversion to O2, I thought that the antioxidants in lemon would be worth mentioning. These are the compounds with KNOWN antioxidant properties which also are in significant enough concentrations to consider their role as such:
Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid as an antioxidant synergist, Ferulic-Acid, Hesperidin, P-Coumaric-Acid,
A few other compounds listed above posses antioxidant qualities but were either in insufficient amounts (if alone), or the amount necessary or present was not given.
A list of compounds found in lime fruit were only listed for linden limes I feel like this is not necessarily representative of all compounds found within the limes we use:
ASH 21,000 - 130,000 ppm ASPARAGINE CARBOHYDRATES 232,000 - 727,000 ppm FAT 30,000 - 580,000 ppm FIBER 135,000 - 423,000 ppm GLUTAMIC-ACID GLYCINE TYROSINE VALINE WATER 681,000 ppm
Anyway, you can see that there is certainly a heavy cocktail here. One compound in lemon, rutin, was even listed as having 5-ht blocking action. Who knows at this point? I would be interested to see if a solution of citric acid does the same thing. Or citric acid with a bioflavinoid tablet dissolved. I don't have a mushroom stash at the moment anyways so that's what I've got for the thread as of now.
