 Weird growing happening

I have a mushroom growing out of my cake, and its about a centemeter from the side of the terr. and its angled down, pointing towards the perlite. My camera currently doesn't work, but i drew a painting in paint, to get my point across

now what do i do to change this? or help it start growing up?
i know these little buggers can grow through just about anything, but how the hell is it gonna grow upside down?

Do you have a light on it? Light gives mushrooms direction. You coulkd leave a fluro on 12/12.

yes, i've kept the light on 12/ 12 everyday, and recently i've kept the light on about 18 hours a day to see if i can make it grow up.
it looks like the base of the mushroom is pointed down, and unless the stem does a 180, then this shroom aint gonna happen.
if it starts to get any worse should i just pic that sucker?

i had the same problem with my last batch... i couldn't get it to change direction b4 it was matured...

The shroom thinks the sun is that direction since the light is being reflected from the perlite

I had that problem once, but i just let it happen, when it came time to harvest i just pulled it out the perlite and chopped it off, taste fine to me. Mine was growing through a grate so it basicly started on the bottom of the cake, grew down and then back up through the perlite and hit the grate.

Doesn't really matter if it grows down or not. Like cub said, just wipe/wash the perlite off.
