I need help ID ing these

I found them in the northeast US growing on a rotting oak stump

Can't say for sure without the other needed info but I would guess it's the honey mushroom, Armillariella mellea.

yeah, they almost look like something u would find at the grociery store or something. Interesting find my friend, wish i could help u id them

well half the patch was all eaten by animals...........so i'm guessing they taste pretty good

i'm not going to try them though

Those are from the Armillaria mellea group of species, as @cro stated. They are edible if cooked well, but even then sometimes cause stomach upsets. Personally, I like them and eat them when I find them. Be *very* sure to cook them very thoroughly before eating.
